Fears and phobias in children are very distressing and life-disabling for them but most of the time, adults take them for granted. This is known to be phobia. An intense, obsessive, irrational fear for phobic people towards the different objects, places, or events can trigger anxiety and panic attacks. Actually, there are several types of phobia.

Mild phobias are common. But, acute cases of phobias are also present. Mild or acute phobias are determined using the ?fight or flight? response by the children. These are also considered as the common types of phobias which encountered by a lot of people in modern society.

People with fear of leaving safe places is what we called agoraphobia. Sufferers prevent leaving from their houses unless they are with their trusted companies. Agoraphobia is primarily derived from the Greek word ?fear of open marketplace?. Agoraphobia and panic disorder don?t have the same implications however, people with panic disorder may commonly have agoraphobia. For individuals with panic disorder, they have been the subject to random events of severe illogical fears. Symptoms of panic attacks may include perspiration, hyperventilation, shortness of breath, dizziness and rapid heartbeat.

If it?s not really a severe case of phobia, observation on the behavior and attitude of the child, is essential. Social phobic individuals have their difficulties in recalling information, forming ideas and socializing with other individuals. The social settings has a great impact to the anxiety level of a person like for an instance, the more the individual believes that he needs to impress others, most probably the anxiety level he has at the moment is increased.

The fear of certain things and events or known as simple phobias are just one of the common types of phobia. The different types of phobias are almost included here. Fear of insects, heights and strings are just some examples of simple phobias. On the other hand, there are a lot of therapy and management for these different types of phobias.
