(NNCNOW.com) --- An on-and-off rainy afternoon didn't slow down teams from across the Northland in doing battle on the gridiron including a Superior team that improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1990 while Ely upset #10-ranked South Ridge on the road.
Other ranked teams included Class AA's #9-ranked Duluth Marshall that fell to Esko in the fourth quarter 33-28 for their first loss of the season.
In a cross-town battle, visiting Hermantown held on to beat Cloquet, 21-15.
