The Playlist's blog Indiewire.com revealed first images this week from Greetings from Tim Buckley, a Jeff Buckley biopic.?
The site has published pictures and a video from the movie, to be presented at the Toronto International Film Festival. Gossip Girl's Badgley will play the musician, who drowned in 1997 at the age of 30.
Dubbed Greetings from Tim Buckley, the film, written by Dan Algrant, will center on Jeff's relationships with his father, singer Tim Buckley, who died in 1975 -- Jeff's performance at a New York musical event honoring his father's memory is a key scene of the movie.
This project will have to compete directly with Jake Scott's Mystery White Boy, also about Buckley. Ridley Scott's son (Welcome to The Rileys) has chosen Reeve Carney to embody the musician.
Critically acclaimed Grace (1994) was Buckley's only album release, and yet he remains one of the most influential musicians of his generation.
