CALDWELL -- A Nampa man is in jail after driving through Fairview Golf Course and almost hitting a golfer, while police tried to pull him over.

Caldwell authorities say they tried to pull over 22-year-old Juan Valentin Cervantes for a signal and lane change violation, when he turned down a dead-end street and then onto the golf course grounds.

Police continued to chase Cervantes' 1994 Lincoln Town Car until both vehicles nearly drove into a canal.

Authorities report that Cervantes then put his car in reverse, almost hitting the police car.

He then drove into a neighborhood at very high speeds until more police caught up with him. Authorities say he then jumped out of his moving car and ran into an apartment.

Police soon found him hiding inside the apartment. He now faces felony charges of eluding, as well as misdemeanor resisting, obstruction, and failing to purchase a driver's license.
