Elvis' Beverly Hills home goes on the market

3 hrs.

It's not Graceland, but as far as Elvis memorabilia goes, owning this Beverly Hills property would top any collection.?Elvis Presley's former Beverly Hills estate has hit the market for $12.995 million. The Trousdale property was one he shared with wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie in the late 1960s.

Elvis bought the home at 1174 N Hillcrest Road in Beverly Hills?for $400,000 in 1967, the same year he married Priscilla. The exclusive slice of land is a 1.18-acre promontory with panoramic city and ocean views in Trousdale Estates. In the 1950s, developer Paul Trousdale oversaw architecturally significant homes designed by LA's famous designers, including Wallace Neff, Paul R. Williams, A. Quincy Jones, Frank Lloyd Wright and Harold Levitt. The prime location coupled with gorgeous homes attracted a host of celebrities. At the time Elvis lived in Trousdale Estates, his neighbors included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Curtis and Ray Charles.

The area still retains its star power. Currently, Jennifer Aniston, David Spade and designer Vera Wang own homes in Trousdale.

Elvis' home was?recently remodeled, but the private and walled French regency-style home still has its original gates (with lots of messages to Elvis scribbled on them). Elvis reportedly would come out of the home to talk to his fans gathered?behind those gates.

Previously, the home was listed as a rental for $25,000 a month. The four-bed, five-bath home spans 5,367 square feet with floor-to-ceiling windows and walls of glass in every room and plenty of indoor-outdoor living space.

The Presleys separated on Feb. 23, 1972. Elvis stayed in this home, and Priscilla and Lisa Marie moved to 144 Monovale Drive in Beverly Hills until Priscilla purchased her own home on Summit Drive in Beverly Hills.

The listing is held by real estate agent Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker.
