My friends were amazed when I told them that a 35 year old, single and rich guy fell in love with a 70 year old woman.
What was even more amazing was that the guy spent for his lady love?s ?physical enhancement? (which I presume included skin rejuvenation, lifting, stretching?the works!). The older man-younger woman pairing is common and accepted. But we haven?t been too kind with older women who fall for the charms of a younger man. Although they say age doesn?t matter, it makes some uncomfortable that a woman would date a guy half her age.

DJ: It is not surprising why some men are attracted to older women. We seldom even bother to talk about it. Yeah, we sure do occasionally poke fun about it over bottles of beer. But we?re not even serious about such topic.
I even suspect the same tongues that wag passionate approval on an older man-younger woman combination are the same ones that lash at older women who fall for younger men.
M: I once knew a couple where the guy was 11 years younger than the woman. They got along fine and even liked the same music. But the woman kept thinking that when he was still in his diapers, she was already into sanitary pads!
He just got out of college while she was saving up for her pension and retirement plans. There were a lot of differences to bridge and not just the age gap. But as with all relationships, a good one takes a lot of effort and commitment.
One must invest a great deal of time and energy for a relationship to flourish. Lasting relationships don?t just happen, they are created.
DJ: Taking too much cue on what other people think can be a little stifling and on more specific occasions, can even be disadvantageous to an individual?s growth.
In relationships, attraction defies logic, eludes science, refuses quantification and denies common sense. Any woman can be ?duh? and shallow or captivating and interesting regardless whether she?s on the same age bracket as Miley Cyrus or Demi Moore.
That?s why I refuse to take a fundamentalist and judgmental side to people?s experiences. Relationships of coolest proportions await those who choose his or her path through his or her free will. We?re only young once, so live to the fullest!
