Keith Urban & Nicki Minaj Are The New American Idol Judge

After months of speculation and countless names being thrown into the mix, it is official Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj are the new American Idol judges, woohoo! With auditions for American Idol set to begin this week the announcement of who would be joining Randy and Mariah at the judges table was inevitable. For whatever reason Fox, AI and reps for both Urban and Minaj decided to make that big announcement on a Sunday, a football Sunday no less. It would seem to me that someone wanted this news to not be the spectacle that happened with Carey joining the show as announced, that is of course just my two cents. This morning in New York, where the auditions are set to begin with all four judges, Fox spread the good news. The country crooner Keith recently left the?Australian version of The Voice, which really added fuel to the fire that he was going to be a judge on American Idol. As for Nicki she has been pretty vocal about wanting to sit at the coveted judges table so the news that she got the gig wasn’t really that surprising ?either.
