Effective Communication Skills

Effective communication skills are an essential part of customer service training. To be a good employee or manager you must take aim at continued development and greater awareness of what works with interpersonal communication. The more you work on these skills the more marketable you will be in any career.

There are many aspects of effective communication but we can focus on a few core skills. It is good to break these skills down into smaller pieces as you can study the facets over a lifetime of work.

Perception of the world and how communication should be executed can vary greatly from person to person, not to mention with people from entirely different cultures and backgrounds. If I could only tune one of my skills it would be trying to see message from the other person?s point of view. From this you can interpret and respond in an efficient manner.

If you seem to find yourself having a difficult time communicating with a number of people than most likely it is advisable to go about changing yourself to affect the communication.

You are ultimately responsible for what happens with interpersonal relationships. Communication is the number one key to building strong, lifelong friends and partners. When you can alter your perception of what is going on around you then you are well on your way to amazing relationships and powerful influence. However, it will go much farther if you are authentic with your communication as opposed to saying want you think people want to hear. Focusing on what already works and building off of that is a great place to start.

I find that the people that I interact with that have the hardest time communicating do not have clarity in what they want to communicate.

A clear, concise, blunt thought is always much more effective even if your delivery isn?t spectacular. So try to take out the fluff you use to sugar coat how you really feel.

Lose the need to be right! Too often people will not give up the need to be right. Please understand that there are always different perceptions and even if you disagree most likely neither party will change their mind about the topic in discussion. You can easily accept their point of view and state that it is interesting and you see it in a different light. This will acknowledge that you do not agree in a tactful way. This is the most powerful tactic I have learned since starting my customer service training and will pay off if you make the commitment to learn the skill.

I hope these pointers opened up new possibilities for effective communication skills in the workplace and I urge you to commit the time to learn more about interpersonal communication.

Every wise woman builds her house but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands. I think the wise wife and mother realises that the whole family hinges on a good marriage. I think God, husband, children, home and church is a biblical approach to prioritising who comes first in your life. And as many a woman whose children have flown the nest will testify- if you haven?t nurtured your marriage during the child rearing years, you may very well end up being married to a stranger!

The sad fact is that we all grow and change throughout the years, so it is imperative that a wife make her husband number one during those years of child raising and keep her marriage alive and the intimacy (both physical and spiritual), fresh. Women who have devoted all their attention to their children and neglected their marriage can feel lost (even suicidal) when that focus is gone. And if it is further complicated by an empty marriage (shudder) A well-loved and respected husband usually makes a better and more confident father.

I think that if the husband is shown love and respect on a regular basis then he will not feel neglected when his wife has to look to the needs of his children before his own. Most men will not over react when their needs are temporarily put on hold whilst a baby is in need of feeding or changing or the children are fighting or in need of discipline or whatever. By making your husband number one after God, I believe it enhances a marriage and that in turn brings greater team-work in raising children.

There are obviously times when our children?s needs are more pressing than our husband?s, but if the wise woman has built her man up, and he knows he is King of his castle and has her heart, he usually understands that he may have to take a temporary back seat in her attentions. If the wife has torn her house down with neglecting her husband, being constantly unavailable or unaffectionate etc then it is highly likely that he will feel that he is not very important in her sight. He may even become bothered with feelings of guilt because he has jealous feelings towards his own children.

The whole business of child raising, marriage and homemaking is a balancing act which requires wisdom and prayer- and organization. I do feel too that sometimes children today are made a little too much of and I fear that we will reap the consequences of this in our own lives and in the next generation of adults. Balance is the key, I feel.

The wise woman will build her house by building up her husband, building her children up enough to make them confident adults but never to become the masters of the home. This is tearing your house down with your own hands. Build your home by seeking God?s divine order- Him, husband, children, house then church. By doing this, you will have a happy home and family and will be serving God as He purposes it. And you will reap the reward of a happy enduring marriage and well adjusted children.

If you?re headed out on a wilderness expedition, there are some very good quality and mouth-watering specialty hiking foods on the market nowadays. They can essentially be separated into 2 types: hydrated and dehydrated.

Hydrated meals are slightly cheaper but they are also a lot heavier. One of the most heavy parts of this kind of food is water.

De-hydrated food is a lot lighter than hydrated food (for a given number of calories) but is generally quite a bit costlier.

If you?re heading out on anything other than a short hike, perhaps for two nights camping out, then anything aside from dehydrated food is going to become far too heavy.

Alternatively, while you can carry the same nourishment for a noticeably lower weight with dehydrated food, and thus carry supplies for longer backpacking hikes, the cost of dehydrated food starts mounting up.

Hence if we are on a budget and need to keep the weight down, what are we able to do?

Or you can cook it: fry it in a pan (cut the sausage into 2-inch/4cm sections and slice down the middle or cut it into slices) or slice it relatively thin, skewer it on a (non toxic) green-wood stick and kebab it over your campfire (NB ensure the wood you are burning is also non-poisonous).

The cooked chorizo is delicious on its own cooked like this or you are able to add it to another dish such as a simple tomato-based pasta sauce. You can make a pasta sauce on the trail with a packet of powdered Bolognese sauce mixed with a powdered tomato soup. This could then be combined with your pasta. Straightforward, flavorsome, light, nutritive calorific and cheap.

For other options, just remember this: minmise the water content for the calories contained and ensure you have a good balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. And after you start seeing the possibility in familiar foods there?s masses of other foodstuff on the shelves of your area store that can be used in similar ways.
