Edinburgh Gumtree have only just started charging ?5 for you to add a live link to your ad. I cannot comment whether this is the case in other regions or not?
From an seo point of view, is this link worth a fiver? I know there is the value in the link of making it easier for the potential customers to reach your website from Gumtree.
It occured to me that with them now charging, there are now a lot fewer links coming from the Gumtree site. I have limited seo knowledge, but would that not increase the potency of any links that do come from Gumtree? Are the links DoFollow? Are they worth a fiver as a stand alone link?
