The Truth About Guys and Online Dating: Episode 253 | Boundless ...

Our guest on this week's culture segment is Chad Eastham. I first heard Chad speak on The Revolve Tour when I was on the staff of a magazine for Christian teen girls. I remember him talking about girls and guys and waffles and spaghetti (two of my favorite foods). So when I saw he has a new book releasing in January, I wondered what he might have to say to Boundless' young adult audience ? after all, he's a 30-something single guy himself. ?

What stood out to me in Lisa's interview with Chad was that, yes, relationships are complicated, but sometimes we're the ones making them too complicated. In the interview, Chad notes, "People don?t even know how to talk to each other." That's crazy, yet so true. If two people can't communicate without fear or insecurity, how do they expect to ever have a meaningful relationship?

Another point that stood out to me is when Chad said right now he's focused on learning to love people better and "the questions of romance take care of themselves when I'm doing that." That sounds like a great resolution to keep in mind for the New Year: Love because Christ first loved us (1 John 4:19).

What things did you find helpful in this week's episode?

Dating Online -- 00:00

"Why would anyone join an online dating service?" If you haven't tried it, you've probably asked this question. So this week we have two young women, Adrianne and Ashley, join Lisa in the studio to explain what motivated them to sign up. They also tell us about their positive and negative experiences of filling out a profile, viewing matches and going on dates. ?

Chad Eastham -- 26:45

Chad writes books that tell the truth about guys, dating, love, just being friends, breaking up, making up and moving on. And in this interview, Chad shares his observations and experiences of today's guy-girl relationships. Listen in to discover why he believes young adults need to better use their "God-given brain" when it comes to relationships.

Age Matters -- 49:55

While?browsing?through an online dating site, this 23 year old says all the guys seemed to be significantly older than her. How can she find matches more in her age range? Sam Moorcroft, co-founder and president of ChristanCafe.com, shares some ideas.
