Mary Portas Welcomes Ari Seth Cohen and the Advanced Style Ladies to London!

Mary Portas put her highly individual shop space within House of Fraser to good use last night ? and hosted a thrilling party to celebrate the launch of Fashion blogger Ari Seth Cohen?s new book - Advanced Style. Ari Seth Cohen's fashion blog is unique in being a tribute 'to the confidence, beauty, and fashion that can only be achieved through the experience of a life lived glamorously' and he?s attracted praise, and now a book deal ? for his timeless images and words of wisdom which provide fashion inspiration for all ages and prove that age is nothing but a state of mind.

Mary Portas explained the thinking behind the hook up; 'look at all these fabulous women ? I?d much rather be at a party with them than anyone else. Being stylish when you?re older is a combination of a few things, imagination, sex appeal, but most of all confidence. All of these ladies are confident in how they present themselves and not afraid to experiment. The only problem is there?s no fashion imagery to represent this demographic. That?s why we need Ari!'

We spoke to the man himself and he was full of compliments for the style of the older ladies of our capital city, saying 'Oh London is great for finding people! The lady on the front cover is from London. On of my favourite spots to find people to photograph is the King?s Road [in Chelsea] I would have liked to go out this week, but it?s been too rainy!' We sympathise with your weather woes, Ari.

If you?re a fan, then Ari Seth Cohen will be signing copies of Advanced Style, his debut book, once again, at 2pm on Saturday 9th June, in Mary?s Shop, Level 1, House of Fraser, Westfield, London W12 ? so there?s another chance to meet the man behind this unique blog and book tomorrow!

Ari will also be scouting for the most stylish ladies and gents across London from the beginning of next month. So if you see a smiley American man in a pink suit with a camera say hello to him!
