The Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR), Cape Town, is holding a public dialogue to launch Peacebuilding, Power, and Politics in Africa edited by Devon Curtis and Gwinyayi A Dzinesa on Wednesday 28 August at the Labia Theatre. The Peacekeepers will also be screened at the event.
The meeting will be addressed by Ambassador Augustine Mahiga, former Special Representative of the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General and Head of the UN Political Office in Somalia; Professor Margaret Vogt, former Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Integrated Peacebuilding Support Office in the Central African Republic (BINUCA); and Dr Devon Curtis, Lecturer, Department of Politics and International Studies, University of Cambridge, England. The event will be chaired by Professor Ibrahim Gambari, former Joint Special Representative for the African Union / UN Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID).
