Question by reason666: Personal Training with just a Certifcation, Not collage degree, is it still worth it?
im a 21 year old male, in tip top great shape, lean build. I know just about everything about the human body and everything about working out, i have a certification in Massage therapy that i received not too long after high school, and am currently in the Marine corps Reserves, im also currently in school in an online collage with a major in exercise science. I want to get my certification online for personal training, i want to start being a personal trainer soon, i cant with for another 3 yrs of collage to start work as a PT. I get deployed overseas in a little over a year.
So my question is this, could someone just be certified in personal training get a good job at a gym or do they have to have a collage degree in some sort of fitness degree.

You dont need a colledge degree to be a personal trainer though it does help increase your credibility. You will need to be certified though and have insurance. Here are a few certifications that might help. There is NSCA, ACSM, ACE and others depedning on which part of the world you are. ASCM needs a degree though the others dont need one unless you want to be a CSCS with the NSCA. Just go online and check these certifications. For your case I would go with either NSCA or ACE though I dont know which part of the world you are in.
